Need for Speed is one of the most recognizable and popular brands in the Electronic Arts portfolio. After a successful remake of one of the first installment of the series - Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, the publisher commissioned the Criterion Games (Burnout series) to perform a similar operation on another popular episode - Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Despite the identical title, the two games do not have much in common. New Most Wanted is inspired by the 2005 hit, mainly in terms of the current police chase theme and the rise of the so-called "black list".
